In this podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalschoolforentrepreneurship.com\/\">Dean Thomas Blekman<\/a> interviews Wassili about what\u00a0<em>Meaningful Profit<\/em>\u00a0means as a business model.<\/p>\n<h4>The difference between Meaningful Profit and (non for) Profit Business<\/h4>\n<p>Meaningful Profit differs from\u00a0<em><strong>for<\/strong> <strong>Profit<\/strong> Business<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em><strong>non for Profit<\/strong> Business.\u00a0<\/em>For Profit and Non for Profit are the two legal business forms that have been around many years.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From a business and psychological perspective the\u00a0<em>for Profit Business model<\/em>\u00a0is aimed at \u2018taking for one\u2019s benefit\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<em>non for Profit Business<\/em>\u00a0model is aimed at \u2018giving something for the benefit of others\u2019. These two business models are legally and business wise organized with these principles at the core.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Two motivational directions<\/h4>\n<p>Wassili researched <em>intrinsic motivation<\/em> as described in the twice nominated book\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wassilizafiris.nl\/en\/about-wassili\/books\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>IK BEN\u00a0 niet alleen op de wereld\u00a0<\/em><\/a>(2011). For many entrepreneurs motivation is an important topic. Because why would someone invest time and energy on a business idea?<\/p>\n<p>He found that people can be driven by:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u2018Taking\u2019 something for themselves. Taking for yourself is an essential human drive and we are neurologically wired to do so for the sake of survival.<\/li>\n<li>At the same time we are neurologically wired to \u2018give\u2019 something beyond our own personal needs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Natural motivation<\/h4>\n<p>The for and nor for Profit business models work from either <strong>one or the other<\/strong> drive. However both drives are neurologically wired within people. Hence it is easy to explain that people will experience a lack of motivation and sense of purpose when they work in one or the other (business) environment. Companies do everything to motivate their staff to do the job at hand. But<strong> they miss the most obvious and deepest intrinsic drive<\/strong> that is the third business model:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Meaningful Profit.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Combing both natural drives for business<\/h4>\n<p>The Meaningful Profit business model has both intrinsic drives as a business model <strong>in itself<\/strong>. The need for sustainable business entails a <em>for Profit<\/em>\u00a0(taking for self) as wel as a\u00a0<em>non for Profit\u00a0<\/em>(giving for something beyond oneself) goal. Combining both deeply wired human needs into a business model ensures deep drive for the entrepreneur as well as its employees. It also insures a sustainable business designed for long term business.
